§01 — OVERVIEW
Kodschul is a leading German EdTech and professional training platform that empowers businesses, developers, and professionals to master state-of-the-art IT skills, Artificial Intelligence, and digital transformation. Delivering premium, hands-on seminars trusted by top-tier institutions and global leaders—including the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), Mercedes-Benz, the Federal Police (Polizei), and Siemens—the platform bridges the gap between theory and real-world execution.
Built on an advanced Next.js core integrated with Payload CMS, the platform serves thousands of learners across Europe, offering scalable, real-time dynamic course paths, robust multi-language localization, and highly targeted search discoverability.
§02 — CHALLENGE
Staying Reliable Under Campaign Traffic
Major training rollouts brought sudden traffic spikes. The platform needed infrastructure that could absorb them without downtime or a dip in reliability.
A Growing Course Catalog Outgrowing Manual Entry
Managing dozens of specialized courses by hand in the database didn't scale. Content creators needed a way to publish and update course content without fighting the CMS.
Ranking in a Competitive EdTech Market
Winning visibility for competitive German IT and AI training keywords meant technical SEO had to be treated as a first-class part of the build, not an afterthought.

§04 — APPROACH
I rebuilt the platform's foundation for enterprise-grade reliability: a resilient, containerized cluster with automated, zero-downtime deployments so campaign traffic spikes are a non-event.
On the application side, I refactored the Next.js core for consistency and performance, and built a lightweight content pipeline that lets the team publish and update the course catalog without touching the database directly. I then rebuilt the site's SEO foundations end-to-end — structured metadata, clean routing, and fast page loads — which moved Kodschul to the top of organic search for its core training keywords.
